“Life is all about balance; it is about courage to go on even when others say you can't. Sometimes life challenges, mental illness, or emotional disturbance interferes with this balance and courage, and, finding the right support can help you restore this balance and get you back the strength you need to to go on.”

Mardoche Sidor, MD is a Harvard-trained, quadruple board certified psychiatrist, whose areas of expertise are pediatric psychiatry (child and adolescent), adult, and family mental health. In addition, he has received academic training in addiction, in particular adolescent addiction, forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy. He has done additional training in public health at Columbia University Medical Center, psychodynamic psychotherapy at NYU, family therapy, psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Dr. Sidor distinguishes himself from other mental health professionals as he emphasizes a strength based model, taking into consideration the complexity of the brain, the mind, human behavior and life. Dr. Sidor also emphasizes prevention, providing individuals with the tools they need to continue to grow.

During his training, Dr. Sidor has cared for children, elderly and families and, ever since, mental health has become one of his passions. Dr. Sidor brings the equilibrium between his experience abroad and his Ivy League education. He naturally combines compassion, respect, humility, hospitality, and common sense interventions, with the scientific curiosity, system based, and highest standard of care. Dr. Sidor is hands-on with the individuals he cares for. He makes himself available to them and makes sure to eliminate intermediaries and to maintain the individual's privacy as much as possible.

Dr. Sidor strongly believes that medical decisions should be based on collaboration between the medical provider, the individual and their families. Individuals should be empowered with the information they need to make the most rational medical decisions. Individuals are more than just a diagnosis, and diagnoses should be made after careful, thoughtful and comprehensive evaluations, following a formulation based on a bio-psycho-social and cultural based approach. Furthermore, treatment should be holistic, multidimensional, and tailored to each individual.
