What to expect when you contact me:
That first call when you are looking for a therapist can be very hard to make. You have also decided to take that step for a number of reasons. It is important that whomever you decide to work with to guide you on your path toward greater personal strength and wellness is the right fit.
We will start with a phone consultation. This will provide you with the opportunity to tell me what areas you may need assistance in, and together, we can first determine if I am able to serve you with the needs you’ve identified. If I’m not, I’ll direct you to someone I believe will be better able to support you.
Once it is determined that an initial appointment is the next best step, we will schedule an initial 45-minute session. You will get the chance to tell your story, which will be followed by a few specific questions to get to know you better. This initial session will also give you time to ask any questions you may have of me and about how I will be working with you.
I’m eclectic in my approach, having several tools (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, to name a few) at my disposal. This allows me to meet my clients where they are and to adjust to their needs. I believe in following a multidimensional approach, and ensuring that the process is collaborative. You are the expert of your own life; my job is to help you feel empowered and live life to the fullest.
